Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Lamp

Built in 1874 in North Wildwood to mark the entrance to Hereford Inlet, this lighthouse is perhaps the most beautiful of all such structures. This handsome frame dwelling has a square light tower that is elevated to 57 feet above sea level. In the recent past, the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse was deeded from the U.S. Coast Guard to the Marine Police, who turned it over to the town, which completely restored this wonderful navigational aid to its former grandeur.
